FS Rees, Sgt Harril, Sgt Buchanan, Cpl Wright, Cpl Bowes, Cdt Lees, Cdt Harding, Cdt Lamb, Cdt Richard, Cdt Naito, Cdt Tavener, Cdt Vowles and Cdt Taylor attended wing training day as the 2386 Sqn drill squad. The practiced hard before the event making sure their drill and uniform was to the highest possible standard. The inspection went really well with the judge an RAF drill instructor Cpl from RAF Halton (the RAF recruit training station) commenting that the cadets were good enough in standards of dress to pass out at RAF Halton. The drill sequence also went well and the drill team gained first place.
Cdt Vowles and Cdt Taylor represented the squadron in public speaking, both of the cadets did well and Cdt Vowles came first.
The squadron diorama an evacuation desert scene by helicopter came in first place thanks to the hard work of Cpl Wright, Cdt Hill, Cdt Hill, Cdt Aitken, Cdt Chin, and Cdt Bidder undr the guidance of CI Wiggins.
Cdt Bidder did well gaining second place in the junior non-aviation art.
Cdt Vowles gained first place in the aviation art and the non-aviation photograph for over 16’s.
Sgt Buchanan gained second place in the aviation photography competition.
Photographs from the competition taken by Cdt Lovell and his technical assistant Cdt Hawkins will be uploaded soon. All first place cadets and items including Sgt Buchanan’s second place photograph will be competing at the Regional Activities day on 4 October.
