On the 25th to the 27th of April, Sgt Taylor, Cpl Austwick, Cpl Stenner and Cdt Blyth participated in the annual Nijmegen practise march at RAF Cosford. They had this to say:
RAF Cosford was a great experience: road marching is far different from any form of walking we’ve done before. As it was a wing team it meant we met a lot of new people and had a lot of fun, team morale was high and the singing helped in the low spots. The event was a fantastic experience, there were over 4000 marchers from all over the place including Germany! Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing had a 98% success rate with the A team (our team) being one of the top five teams home on both days (3rd on Saturday, 5th on the Sunday) – quite an achievement considering we had started mid way through the second marching detachment, setting off around 45 minutes after the first team left the gates. It was well worth the pain of blisters and sore joints as you get a nice medal at the end. It was a great challenge mentally and physically, we would recommend anyone to try.
